I have this strange fascination for autumn leaves. There is something peculiarly attractive and romantic about them. The warm and vibrant hues of yellows, browns and orange… or those gorgeous, intricate cuts and shapes… in autumn leaves I see nature at its graphical best!
No spring nor summer beauty hath such grace
As I have seen in one autumnal face.
– John Donne
But more than that, at the most personal level, I interpret their elegance from a rather philosophical perspective. The autumn leaves boast of a beauty of a different kind, one, which only wisdom can bring. In those worn out and aged leaves blowing carefree with the wind I see that “been there, done that” kind of suave, peaceful and confident look…But then nature always have something to tell, it’s about how much keen you are on listening to it…
To depict the autumn leaves in different ways, I created a mini-series of vector illustrations.
