October 2023 Desktop/Mobile Calendar Wallpapers & Printable Planner, Illustrated – The Pumpkin Patch

I spotted them this past week while passing by. Even a glimpse of that rustic little barn, and a hundred, huge globes in warm hues of orange and yellow laying on the still green landscape, under the now sweetly crisp and slightly warm sun – gives an inexplicable, cozy assurance to the heart, something only those who wait for fall would understand.

The Pumpkin Patch at the nearest village. I have visited it over so many autumns, yet the excitement of its emergence never fades. It has introduced me to one of the most wondrous gifts Mother Earth bestows on us – vibrant, massive Pumpkins. Some weighing up to 500 lbs! When one stands in the middle of their sea and sees as far as the eyes go, this coral-ish deliciousness coming out from the wild ground, the experience is almost sacred. This month I attempted to capture it in a loose watercolor style of illustration.

    My first thought at seeing the ‘lively’ painting was ‘wow – so many of them crowding and waiting outside the house’ – like some sort of crowd gathered outside that old house :) hehehe… And then an afterthought was like its a thanks giving crowd outside shops waiting for their discounts.

    Your art is always wonderful but this year’s freebies have been outstanding! Each month I’ve been feeling very conflicted because I love the current one and don’t want to switch but also love the new one!
