Hello, beautiful mind!

You are.
Because, you are interested in a rather subtle, beautiful, omnipresent, and yet surprisingly often overlooked aspect of our lives – Nature. And I am so happy that you are here! :)
I am Gyaneshwari Dave. The writer/poet and artist behind Pineconedream.
Day in, day out, no matter what we are after, essentially, in one way or another, aren’t we just longing for Joy, Beauty & Meaning to be present in our lives to call them fulfilled? I believe that when we start paying attention to the natural world, we discover all three of these. In their eternal, purest, and most profound forms.

What I Do

Nature Writings & Poetry

Effortless poise of age-old mountain peaks, joyful enthusiasm of butterflies fluttering carefree in a meadow, prayerful peace of trees, a chorus of birds singing every dawn and dusk – doesn’t everything in nature have its own, special, subtle, and discerning message for us?
I express my interpretations of the beauty, joy, and meaning of life I find in the natural world, explore our relationship with it, and, the issues of conservation – in articles & poems.
“A Word With Wilderness: Poems Inspired By American Nature”  is a compilation of 32 of my nature poems, each accompanied by my illustrations. Read reviews & Find out more.

Illustration/Surface Pattern Design

There are always tiny stories happening somewhere in nature…filled with wonder and delight. My illustrations are inspired by them.
I choose to design surface patterns with my art because a surface pattern can tell the viewer these stories perpetually. I also find the process of  arranging my artwork as motifs and seeing a pattern emerge slowly, truly meditative.
In the end, I love how having these patterns on everyday objects give them meaning, and make them special.

Picture Quotes:

Wisdom & Wonder From Nature

Enlightened minds have this rare ability to express the most profound, life-changing wisdom in the simplest of words. That is why I love discovering and pondering over these witty quotes, especially, quotes about living mindfully l and the way they can be related to nature.
I choose the best wisdom and/or nature quotes I come across and combine them with my nature photography to create these thought-provoking picture quotes.

I realize from Gyaneshwari that there is so much good in this world, all we have to do is look and find it. As long as we can keep developing our own relationship with nature, we will all be ok. We just have to focus on it. I will gift her book to people I love.
